Individual counselling is a journey into self-healing. Understanding and processing life challenges is part of the healing process. In the person centered model, the therapeutic process will be adapted to fit the individual need of each client. Counselling provides a safe space to express and face those issues, for a better way of living. Through this journey I hope to create authentic connections and provide an environment where clients feel safe and heard.
Group therapy provides a way to connect with other experiences and helps us reflect on our own journey of life. In this setting we can learn from hearing other stories, which helps us gain knowledge and acceptance of our own life. There is a sense of bonding and unity in this type of setting and it can be healing to hear others, as well as being heard. I have had many years of experience in various types of group settings such as mindfulness therapy, anxiety, depression and addictions with adults and youth counselling groups.
Many of us struggle with maintaining healthy relationships. Relationship issues can be overwhelming. For many couples, having good communication and understanding can be the greatest challenge. Counselling provides a safe space and helps couples work together as a team. In couples counselling, both people can express their individual voices in a therapeutic space. Couples counselling allows everyone to be heard and this creates a safe place for empathy and understanding.
I have extensive experience working with families from many different backgrounds and family structures. These include single parents, step-parents, immigrant families and mixed families. Family life is challenging for all of us. Many of us need support with communication and understanding each others' needs. My experience in working with families has been the most fulfilling and I hope to provide therapeutic tools to enhance family life in every way
